As one of our valued customers, we connected with the club’s Head Ice Technician Jason Leneeuw in October 2020 to help the club adapt to local COVID-19 safety measures, and to create a safe space to keep curling.
The Biggest Challenge For Curling Clubs
There’s no doubt curling clubs around the world have been under immense stress to support their members, keep facilities safe, and prepare for the future.
Like many other clubs, Tam Heather Curling & Tennis Club faced the challenge of implementing social distancing requirements on the ice, which prompted them to consider reconfiguring their eight-sheet ice surface into a six-sheet ice surface.
Social Distancing Solutions Provided By Jet Ice
When Tam Heather Curling & Tennis Club reached out to us, we took immediate action to begin collaborating with their team on possible solutions for their unique facility.
With the safety of their team and club members as a priority, we considered all regulations and developed a blueprint for an optimized curling experience.

Ultimately, Jet Ice moved forward to white out eight existing green and burgundy curling houses that were painted on the Tam Heather Curling & Tennis Club concrete floor.
As skilled painters & ice technicians, we also took the time to feather the curling house edges to blend with the existing white floor.
